Yurts, Rhinos & Wolves
UM Wildlife Biology Professor Joel Berger has a tremendous amount of experience and passion to share with students. He has traveled from his home state of California to the Arctic, living in tents, yurts and cabins while pursuing his research.
Berger has been to Africa to study black rhinos and to Russia to observe how elk live.
Next, he will travel to Tibet to get a closer look at wild yak.
He is the John J. Craighead Chair and has been teaching on campus since 2008.
"I feel lucky," says Berger.
