As the weather begins to take a turn for spring and you make your first trip up the “M” trail, you may notice something new on top of the “M.” It’s a map detailing all the buildings on campus, a gift from the Class of 2011 through the annual Senior Challenge campaign.
Each year, the senior class gives back to the UM community by supporting academic programs and through a class gift.
For Eric Stokes, the chair for the Senior Challenge during the 2011 spring semester, the experience was positive and he believes it’s a great way to add something unique and beneficial to the University of Montana. The 2011 class gift of the map on the "M" did just that.
“The committee came up with an awesome idea that adds value to the University,” he says. “We also fund raised above and beyond our goal, and were able to donate the surplus to the MICK fund (benefiting academically successful students with financial needs), which was awesome,” he adds.
Stokes, a recipient of degrees in both Economics and Political Science, believes the hard work and fundraising by his class led to the success of Senior Challenge 2011.
