Deferred Charitable Gift Annuities

What is a charitable gift annuity?

A charitable gift annuity is a simple contract. In exchange for a gift of cash or stock, you will receive fixed payments to you for your lifetime in addition to tax benefits. After the annuity payments end, the remaining balance of the gift is used to support the University of Montana.

Not retiring for a while? A deferred annuity might be for you!

Example: Mary, age 60, contributes $25,000 to establish a gift annuity. Mary is currently employed and doesn’t anticipate needing her annuity payments until she is 70.

*The University of Montana Foundation follows rates set by the American Council on Gift Annuities, which are subject to change.

By deferring her payment start date, Mary will receive a higher payout rate and have the satisfaction of knowing her legacy will make a difference at UM.

A gift annuity may allow you to make a larger impact on higher education than you thought possible.
