UM Welcomes New President
Dr. Jeremiah Shinn Takes Office on July 1
On April 14, 2026, the Montana University System Board of Regents unanimously selected Dr. Jeremiah Shinn as the 20th president of the University of Montana.
Dr. Shinn brings more than two decades of experience in higher education leadership to UM, most recently serving as interim president of Boise State University. His record reflects a deep commitment to student success, institutional excellence and community engagement.
We are pleased to welcome President Shinn on July 1. We are excited for him to experience firsthand the significant impact of your philanthropic support on schools, colleges and programs across campus, and in the lives of every student as they pursue their academic and career goals.
We look forward to facilitating opportunities for the University’s most loyal donors to meet and engage with Dr. Shinn, including at the UM Foundation Fall Gathering on Thursday, October 1, during UM Homecoming Week.
